the sun was shining.
the birds were chirping.
the flowers were flowering.
spring had sprung.
the kids and adults were itchin to get out and do something in the lovely weather.
so we karissa, maddie, bridger, polly, teddy and i headed to wheeler farms.
we didnt think of how the wind was blowin and by the end of our excursion were covered in a nice thick layer of dirt. head to toe. it is comparable to just finishing up a day of 4 wheeling. you can just feel the dirt all over and in your hair. and although your lips are dry as can be, you are terrified to lick, cause you know you will end up with a tongue full of dust... and probably poo dust for that matter, since we were at a farm and all.
i hesitated for a sec with posting these. i have recently tried enlisting the skillz of my sweet husb to teach me how to edit photes they were going to be these. im sure i will have zero trouble taking more to practice on but we havent gottten around to it yet.
so i am posting them anyway.
bridge is a helper.
these two... well, they adore each other.
lots.
penguining.
bridger.
he and polly were born only 1 month apart. its fun to watch them together, being best buds and doing all of the same things, separately. that makes sense to me.
like gathering "collections"
anywhere we go, polly collects rocks and sticks to bring home and calls them her "collections."
apparently bridge does the same.
oh sweet 4 year olds.
in case you have never met my dear sweet niece maddie, she is a poser. to the max. always has been. anytime the camera is whipped out, you better believe that she is in front of it, with her game face on, ready to kick some picture takin butttt!
ie:
we spent some time down by the creek, rock throwing.
yes, we are fabulous parents AND encourage our children to do hooligan type things.
said rocks, mid air.
and again.
also, besides the fact that i just adore her, i love that maddie is older and is totally a little mother hen.
its a good thing too. or else i might have left the stroller with ted in it.
way for her to pick up my slack.
this theodore LOVES horses.
as you can see.
he is set on climbing through the gate to get to them.
simply being a spectator is not good enough.
again. thanks maddie, for remembering my kid, while i didnt.
rocks are another of his loves.
being told this was an outhouse and what is was used for.
then of course, being her, she poses.
i: hey guys, push real hard and make a face like you are pooping!
maddie did, polly just watched like she was crazy.
this is what happens when you have boy short hair and the wind blows.
we went on the wagon rides.
saw a brand new, born that very morning, baby lamb.
then fed the ducks.
duck feed mid air.
a tasty lookin shoe perhaps?
and again, flyin duck feed.
helpful love.
pretty flowers.
and by the end of all that... WE. WERE. SPENT.
