the car ride and cute things polly says

the other day, i went into pollys room only to find that she had colored ALL over a couple of her toys. when i asked why the heck she did that, she replied "because those parts were white and boring. i was trying to just make them colorful and beautiful." i looked around, only to find that she had in fact only colored on the white parts. first i was upset. really upset. cause she definitely knows better. she is 4 and has never done anything like that before. after her explanation i was proud.

we drove to california, as usual. and as usual, my kids were little angels. seriously. they are always such good travelers. polly didnt complain one tiny bit either way and teddy only ever starts freaking out the last couple hours or so on the way there. we always get caught in traffic coming through san bernadino and riverside. he doesnt care too much for traffic. but once we are through it, he happies right up again.
of course movies and fun activites always help.
i brought a bunch of these soft little balls "pom-poms" if you will and pipe cleaners cause those are always a good time.
the kids loved 'em.

polly made us all special decorations and crowns

teddy preferred to eat them

it was apparently pretty funny

my gem of a crown.
also, this is what i look like in real life. zero make-up. im hott.

the fun stuff

i saw on pintrest to put magnets on the back of puzzle pieces so they stick to cookie sheets and the littles can do puzzles in the car. i made a couple for polly. for ted i just glued some onto a couple random toys and grabbed a few letter magnets of the fridge.
it made him happy.

ant penny has a lot of crazy hats.
so duh, you have to wear the chicken hat while playing with the dancing chicken.

a LOT has happened

its been a while, we have been terribly busy. holidays, birthdays and vacation! a bunch has gone on and i have not been able to keep up. so, i have made a decide. rather than posting everything all at once, cause im sure that will be WAAAY to overwhelming and i wont be able to remember all that i want to put in about each separate occasion AND i have about elevendy bazillion pics, i am going to break it up over the next few days.
so, this entry will be about the week of valentines day.

heart shaped balloons were all the rage while breakfast was being cooked, even though neither of the children had enough air or power to blow them up.

for breakfast on love day, i made heart shaped cinnamon rolls idea courtesy of pintrest. although they were far more heart shaped before they were baked. when i took them out polly said "WHAT THE?! those are not hearts..."
i was also going to do heart shaped melon pintrest but couldnt find a cookie cutter small enough.

since we were going to be gone the next week, polly celebrated her birthday at school with all of her friends that week. she wanted chocolate and pink princess cupcakes with diamonds.
so of course, thats exactly what she got.
chocolate, pink frosting and yellow diamond sprinkles.

two of her friends at school.  holly and leah.
of course, i had to take pics before class started.

miss sam buys 4 balloons for each kid on their birthday. she asks them and they get to choose which colors they would like to have.
polly? oh, she chose brown.... all 4. brown.
thats my girl. and thats why i love her.
such a fabulous little wierdo.
never afraid to be her self. i hope that stays with her forever.

birthday crown and magic birthday wand.... that i snapped in half shortly after this was taken.

i have defiled my body and pollys preschool valentines

long story short:
i have for a loooong time enjoyed the appearance of tattoos. i have always wanted one but never trusted my self to choose something that i knew i was going to want FOREVER. then i had polly. i knew that was something i would love for my life. so i wanted to get her name. being the weenie that i am, i was always WAAAAY too afraid to actually go out and get one. then, during a beautiful brunch date with my dearest friend wanlass, i admired her fresh ink. she gave me the card of one of her nice man friends that did hers anyone lookin, he is great, and did a fab job. finally i thought "WOMAN UP CHRISTINE!!! you have wanted this for SO long and have known exactly what you want for the last 4 years.... and it cant be nearly as terrible as having 2 small-ish human beings come tearing literally through your private part. small tattoo? it'll be cake!" that being said, i made an appt, and did it! hooray for me!
i know what most of you will think...
IS SHE CRAZY!?!?
she only did it cause they havent been to church in a while and she wants to be a rebel....
SHE IS SURELY GOING TO HELL!!!
draw your own conclusions if you must. as for me, i absolutely love it and am so proud of my self for finally doing something i had been putting off for so long. and i love that its not cursivey bottom of the wrist style no offense to those who like that. i just knew i wanted it to be simple, and where it can be seen all the time. not hidden. plain text. top of the wrist. good.

 she addressed her valentines today!

today is not my birthday and we eat our waffles with cheddar cheese

i absolutely despise when people use FB to tell a "friend" happy birthday. really, you know you dont care and you are only doing it cause your little reminder on the side of your news feed told you to. and possibly so you dont look like the only jerk that didnt say anything. due to my strong feelings on the subject, i never say it to anyone. on FB. ever. if we are true friends, i have your # or know where you live. so i will either call or show up, so rude and unexpectedly to share a surprise. a couple years back, i had this genius idea. i would have a fake FB birthday. those who knew my real birthday oct 10th would either call me out or wish me a great day, on the right day. well, it happened and was funny and then i forgot about it. just as i do each year. then feb 3rd rolls around and i get all these nice little wishes, and its fun all over again. childish? perhaps. but it makes me laugh all day. so who cares. i do have to say though. i honestly feel bad for a select few. truly and deeply in my heart, i feel bad for tricking them. just a few friends, that i really do enjoy and know are just being nice. that i know are being genuine in wishing me a delightful day.

now that i have that out of the way, we made cheese waffles for breakfast!!!
yep thats right.... waffles, topped with a bit of cheese then ironed and topped with syrup

like this

it always overflows on me. EVERY time.

you cant say that these dont look so much better than plain ol' waffles...
dont knock it till you try it

i had to take polly to the dr today. her piercing on the right ear had obviously gotten infected.
it looks sad. but she is tough.
i was instructed to take the earring out for a few days till it heals. in hopes of being able to keep the hole open, i asked the dr for some thick stitching thread stuff whatever you wanna call it. pushed it though and made a knot. it will stay for a bit.

also, she said something today that made me very proud. if you dont know me very well, ill put this out there so you can understand. farts and poop and other such things are funny. i dont care who you are or how old you are... if you cant try your darndest to each and every day, find a new way to reist one in your spouses general direction and laugh about it or joke about #2, thats just sad. SO, back to the story. polly "baptised the lamanites" this afternoon and apparently had what is referred to at least in our house hold as a ghost poo. she came out after finishing and said to her father, while i was sitting close by, "dad i had a ghost poop! that means it disappeared in the toilet. it wasnt there..."
hmmmm. i must admit though, i have been having to teach her that these kinds of shenanigans must be restricted to family and/ or home time. LAME! i know. but i cant have her freaking out her teacher at preschool...

work out or eat cookies?

really, thats not a hard one for me. the only reason i have even thought about working out lately is cause it was one of my new years resolutions. and iv only done it once. and it was at home. klint bought us both gym memberships and mine hasnt been used. at all. but hey, at least im good on all of my others! here i am... blogging away! i think ill go do the cookies while the pics are uploading. then maybe later, after klint gets home from the gym ill say "oh honey... i was waiting till you got home so you can watch me bend over and stuff." BOOM! instant re-direct.
kyle and brittin klints bro and his prushus daughter came over yesterday. we went and did a couple fun things and just hung around the house for a bit. the gals played and had fun. they love each other lots. and it makes me happy.

brit found pollys beauty and the beast 3D glasses.
we popped the lenses out a while back so polly could wear them as often as her heart desired.

that squeaky talking cat... whatever the heck his name is.

even while resting, daddy is the protector of all.

boys absolute favorite thing in the whole wide world?
a SHOWER!!!!
he loves the water.

polly wanted to play hopscotch really bad today. it was cold out. so instead of just saying no cause no is never any fun i took a sharpie to some pretty pink and purple card stock, taped it to the kitchen floor, instructed "princess ballerina polly" to fetch her huge diamond and her brudda and we played PRINCESS HOPSCOTCH!!!! which is way better than lame ol' chalk on the pavement.

daddy had a turn. he had to use the owl face sign. it was imperative.

"hop hop hop hop hop" -ted

his faces make me laugh.

boy love

sure son, that seems healthy. why not?

i swear, he gets more and more handsome every single second of every day!

he is an angry drinker. you dont wanna come around after hes thrown back an 8 of milk.

polly LOVES to help me cook. so, of course i let her do as much as she can.
tonight while in the kitchen, she only referred to herself  as "big chef."
where that came from, ill never know. but it sure did make me chuckle every time it came out of her little mouth.

i have this uncle. his name is brian. he is the absolute sweetest man that you will ever meet. i seriously love his guts. he is all big and muscly, owns harleys, hand makes huge knives and tomahawks completely on his own,  has long hair, tattoos and wraps a bandanna around his head. all in all, he is a total bad ass.
a really sweet total bad ass.
ANY WAY
 my point:
while playing with polly, klint wrapped this around his head
extra piece of red fabric from the little red riding hood cape i made for her the other night.

with this on, polly looked up at klint, laughed really hard and once she caught her breath, exclaimed "YOU LOOK LIKE UNCLE BRIAN!"
it was truly awesome.
