AND THATS ALRIGHT!!!!
i have for sometime, been dreaming of the day that i would own a blentec blender.
they were at costco on fri and were lookin mighty fine.
i wanted to snatch one up that very instant, but refrained.
upon returning home, i was filled with regret.
while i have greatly appreciated the help of my ninja, it was time to step up.
especially since we have been back into the healthy/ raw food bizznazz here in my kitchen.
plus, i totally deserve it!
so yesterday, i made my way back and treated my self.
i could not be happier with my decision.
after taking a phot of the beautiful box that beheld my gem of a new appliance, p stated while grabbing a hold of me
"dad! take our picture!"
just like any child with a new toy, as soon as i got home, i had to tear her open and start playing!!
so they painted for a bit while i made, with much more ease than usual, our beloved "ice cream drink"
her maiden voyage.
kefir, aloe, spinach, frozen berries and a smidge of raw honey of course.
then i got a little crazy and thought.
"OOOOHHH!! ill make those new brownies iv been wanting to discover."
dates are a wonderful substitution for sugar or honey in these type desserts.
they arent just sweet and gooey. they have a wonderful light flavor.
they are the DEVIL to process!!!
the dear blendtec gave it a good try and failed.
i was SOOO disappointed.
arent they so pretty though?
even more so covered in carob powder
so i thought, ill take it over to my trusty old literally old, but i love it so dearly! bosch.
fail again.
that wouldnt even do it!!!!
i know. i was just as surprised as you are.
finally i busted out the apparently not so cruddy little cuisinart food processor, did one at a time and then smooshed and added them to the cocao/ nut mixture in a bowl, with my hands.
then packed them into our cute little flowery ice trays and frizzed them right up.
my dear husband is not a chocolate lover.
GASP!! i know. iv learned to see past that and love him for who he is.
infact, he usually avoids it at all costs.
not these bad boys...
he liked them! so thats sayin something.
and he knows better than to just say he likes something cause im his wife. that will only get him into trouble.
mostly cause if he "likes" them, i would surely make it again. that would just be dumb of him.
also, i really love purchasing myself flowers lately.
why not?
i always pick the exact ones im feeling like at that time.
they are pretty, make one happy and cheer a room right up.
plus, you are supposed to buy flowers for the one you love right?
well i love me!
and i love that polly loves them.
we each time, take a small portion, place in her own vase or old spice jar or soda bottle and take them to her room.
she loves them as well.
for bruffus.
i started it the night before in the crock pot so in the morn, after finishing our "yumm healfy juice" it was ready to go.
steel cut oats, added some chia seeds, honey and cinnamon.
raspberries on the side.
and a quick word about ted:
he is so fun!!! well, he of course always has been but especially lately! its so funny to me how with each new stage your small one comes to, you think "this is the best!"
he has been such a little chatterbox. he repeats or tries to at least everything he hears.
he is 18 months now, almost 19.
such a lover. lover of all and thats what i love most about him.
the best is to be sitting anywhere, at any given time, hear from afar in a tiny voice, "TACKLE" and know that you are about to be charged at and demolished with outlandish amounts of sweet hugs and affection.
he is always happy. very rarely complains unless he needs food. bottomless pit would be an understatement.
so smart!
he knows most colors, well the important ones at least. orange, yellow, red, brown, pink, blue, his used to be fave purple and now fave green.
knows a circle from a square from a triangle.
he loves blowing bubbles, coloring, all balls, playing in his sisters room, cars, trucks and anything that goes VROOOM. shoes, dogs, sebastian from little mermaid and listening to the songs of the spring time birds in our trees.
he cups his tiny toddler hand around his ear and says ever so softly "biiiiir"
my favorite word of his lately is "na-mo-nee"
good morning.
inevitably, there is a better stage to come; as for now i am thoroughly enjoying this one.
