the food i make and "how our bellies eat it"

the other day we made whole wheat crepes for breakfast.
of course, i soaked the flour over night.
since it was my first time trying "soaked crepes" i was concerned about how they would turn out.
they were delish!
here is a nice little picture of pollys giraffe whisk.

cooking

home made nutella. i thought it was good. the kids not so much. really i didnt try very hard. i thought, "nutella could totally be healthy minus the sugar but i will never live my life with out sweets. hmmm... its late and i dont want to grind my nuts haha for too long cause its loud. i dont really feel like getting waaaay too in to it. i know! ill just add these slightly blended/crushed almonds to this pre-made organic dark chocolate syrup!"
hahahhah. even though i still liked it, the nuggets and man didnt. BUT now i have ambition to do it the right way and make it yummmm.
all of my efforts are a form of success!
i have now purchased the correct ingredients and plan on doing this at a time of day, in the near future, when i am not ready to die of sleep deprivation.

the others had theirs with butter, yes, butter. we eat lots of that healthy stuff seriously, grandpas raw honey, ground flax and cinnamon.
paired with a nice glass of whole raw milk, it was magical.

for a snack on another day most days, my kids choose red peppers with hummus to dip.
teds hitler hummus stache.

apparently im really into taking pictures of our food lately...???
i made salsa. it was deee-lush.

at another time, while eating a dinner of burritos,
polly asked how her "stomach eats things?" i drew her a picture.
i: our food goes into our mouths and down our throats. then our belly smooshes it all around. when its done, it leaves our belly and goes all the way through this huuuuuge long squiggly thing called our intestines. then it....
*pointed to the red line i drew coming out of the bum area
..........
*waiting for her response. never got it....
then we POOP!
p: no mom, those are bathroom words. we go potty.
who does this child belong to?!
i realize that i left a couple steps out. for the sake of the understanding of a 4 year old.

she wanted to do her own.
