in this house....

we have been learning a lot of  new things.
saying funny things.
doing sweet things.

polly:
she has taken to calling klint and i by our first names as of late. im still indifferent on the subject. at first, naturally, it took me by surprise.

"ummm, christine, can i...?"

yeah. strange to say the least.
she still calls me mom here and there and i love it. after all, there are only two people in this whole entire world that get to call me by that special name and it melts my heart each and every time i hear their tiny voices, "mom! mommy!"i know a lot of people have a lot of varying opinions on this. what i figure: she knows im mom. always has, always will. i kind of like that she calls me christine. in my own brain, it represents lots of good things. im not just her mom, im her friend. she knows that we are on the same level and although she is very aware that im the boss around this joint, i am no greater a person than she. she is comfortable around me. she can come to me, confide in me, be whoever the hell she wants to be and i will always love her. every last smidgeon of her. she knows that nothing in the whole entire world can ever change that.

which leads me to the next subject, humorous things that have escaped her mouth.
today, she got upset with me for "being bossy." which is apparently the one thing i am good at in this life.
i: blah blah this and that and go do what i said cause im boss....
p: (stomps her one foot while giving me that sassafras eye) you are my step mother!!!
hahahhaha. that one has got to be my fave right now. apparently, to a princess obsessed 4 year old, being a step mother is the worst you can be....
ill give her that one cause it was good. dont worry all of you parents who are gasping that i not only let but like (to a degree) my kid calling me by my first name. you can pick your jaws up off the floor and be assured that i took appropriate measures in teaching my child to not say mean things.

p: i dont like boy things.
i: yes you do... you always like boy things and girl things.
p: not uh.
i: what about spider man? you love spider man...
p: well yeah, cause he is frikin amazing!
her and brothers new favorite show is the old 70's spiderman on netflix.

p: what happened to my leglet?
i: your what?
p: my leglet....
i: ummmmm.... i dont know what your talking about.
p: you know, that bracelet that i made to go on my leg... its called a leglet.

she comes over and rests her bod on my legs in the summertime, they run around the home in their undies, so keep in mind that she is half nude.
p: ouch mom, you are pokin me!
i: what?
p: you have pokey fur on your legs!
oooooooohhhhhhh.... suppose i should think about shaving one day.

p: mom i wish that i could marry my dad cause he is my best friend.

also, we have been learning about why some kids dont have both a mommy and daddy and why mommies boobs make milk.

teddy:
he is a nut job. he is fearless. nothing scares him and he tackles his 22 month old world head on. somedays i think it would be best to strap a helmet on this little guy but, meh.... how else is he supposed to learn what not to do? so life goes on, me being scared to the point of crapping my pants on a daily basis because he wants to fly like a superhero. i hope he never changes.

he still loves with a passion, sports of any sorts, mainly basket ball, his skateboard, daddys "surt boads" surf boards, and any body of water; be it the ocean, a puddle or making "fireworks" by splashing in the tub. the latest and greatest on his list of loves, besides his girlfriend "tinko-beww" tinkerbell, is to sing songs. oh how this happies my soul. we spend many hours a day singing away. "twinko stars," "abc's abc's," "busho peck," "pitsy pitsy pider," "cuppycake" and of course "juliet" love story by taylor swift, yes my son knows her songs.

he has a hard time with pronouncing L's unless he is saying his sisters name. "POLLY!" clear as day.

he is a lover to the maximum. he really loves everything. he gets outstandingly excited and exclaims "hooooray!" for everything. he is a "huggie" and "kissie"giver. he adores his sister and thinks she is the bees knees. well duh, she is! they enjoy turning on music really loud and having dance/ jumping on the bed parties in her room, making enormous messes with things like food coloring, vinegar and baking soda, while calling it "rainbow volcano" and "cowering" which is really him scribbling on a piece of paper with only a pen. no crayons or markers allowed unless he is tagging somewhere he is not supposed to be of course.

they both let their imaginations run wild and it takes them on crazy adventures everyday.
i am lucky to be able to join them on said adventures.
i am quite the lucky mother.

as for klint, well, right now he is in the kitchen, demolishing the mountain of dishes that have emerged over the last few days while simultaneously playing the drums on the pots and pans. and earlier he brought me home a cupcake.

the other day i turned a large purse into a camera bag by sewing fabric over some foam and putting pieces together and sewing some more and stabbing my fingers and losing blood. it was a nice time. not really. but the end result is lovely. i will take photes on another day that i dont feel like falling over from sleep deprivation at 8:06 pm.
goodbye.
